Pas gar hos an epikalesētai to onoma Kyriou sōthēsetai.
New World Translation
For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”
The authors of the New World Translation have inserted the words “of Jehovah” in place of the genitive “Kyriou”, which means “of the Lord”. The tetragrammaton YHWH is missing from the original text (of which Jehovah, however, is only a forcing), and according to the context those words of Paul must refer to Jesus Christ.
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
The apostle is clearly speaking of Jesus, stating that Jesus is Lord of all, and whoever calls on his name will be saved. Therefore the name to be invoked is that of Jesus. In fact that of Jesus is “the name above every name, and in which every knee must bend in the heavens and on the earth and under the earth, declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:9-11).
